    Comfort & Care Grant Program

    An opportunity for staff and physicians at the QEII and community-based program to identify places where comfort can be improved upon.

Comfort & Care grants are intended for projects that would not typically receive funding from the health centre’s operating or capital budgets. Grants are awarded to projects that demonstrate direct benefit to patients and/or their families.

Tangible Enhancements, Extraordinary Impact

All QEII departments and programs and Nova Scotia community-based adult programs and clinics are eligible to apply for grants of up to $5,000 – awarded to projects that demonstrate direct benefit to patients and/or their families. These may include patient amenities, resource materials, or furnishings – to name a few. They are not intended for computers, research projects, education or part-time staff costs.

Applications are now open for Comfort & Care grants of up to $5,000. Nova Scotia Health staff at the QEII, the Nova Scotia Hospital, or a Nova Scotia community-based program can apply.

Applications are now closed and will reopen in the spring of 2026.

As of 2025, the Comfort & Care grants have disbursed $2.25 million to support items that might otherwise not be funded from existing health center budgets with grants of $5,000 or less.
