QEII Talks: Atlantic Clinical Cancer Research Unit (ACCRU)

Dr, Daniel Rayson

Dedicated to sharing important healthcare stories, QEII Talks welcomes some of the QEII Health Sciences Centre's most passionate thinkers. In this episode, Dr. Daniel Rayson, medical oncologist and director of the Atlantic Clinical Cancer Research Unit (ACCRU) at the QEII, explains clinical trials — the need, the method and the impact.

Clinical trials are crucial to cancer care. Over the past four decades, all advances in cancer treatments have only been possible because of this important aspect of research. Beyond the test tubes and microscopes, clinical cancer trials are the bridge between discoveries in the lab and real-life cancer treatments for patients in Atlantic Canada and around the world.
